IslamBox

Sarah Ghias , Islam Online, Islamic TV: Just a Click Away, n.d. "An alternative to mainstream TV that has recently become available is IslamBox. IslamBox uses a set-top box and your broadband internet connection to view Islamic TV channels and listen to Islamic radio stations from around the world directly on your TV set. Unlike satellite dishes and cable TV, IslamBox is the only subscription service in the world that exclusively broadcasts Islamic programming.

"Khurram Mujtaba, CEO and co-founder of IslamBox, told IslamOnline.net that the criteria IslamBox uses to select content to broadcast, "is very simple; it can be any channel as long as their broadcast strictly follows the boundaries set out in Islamic teachings and secondly, that it is not promoting something which goes against the basic teachings of Islam."

"In the near future IslamBox will be available locally in France, South Africa, Japan, and in the Scandinavian countries.

"Saim Qidwai, a subscriber of IslamBox related that he no longer has to worry about his children or even himself viewing and being influenced by inappropriate material. He went on to say that "restricting my viewing to Islamic compliant programming has not only benefited me but also my children. Instead of being exposed to negative influences through the TV, they are learning and becoming more passionate about their religion.""
